After 50 years of working with you...
We thought it was time to invite you to chill out!
The "made to chill" project was born somewhere around our 50th anniversary celebrations in 2019. Between two brainstorming meetings, our colleague Stéphanie suggested that we could have "our beer".
- Uh... A HUSKY beer. Really?
Since we are big beer lovers, it didn't take much to create the irresistible urge to explore the idea.
Obviously, this wasn't a project we prioritized during the pandemic, because we were busy adapting, adapting, and adapting again... But last spring, we decided it was time.
Collaborative work with passionate and wonderful people
As we do with everything related to our business, we started by looking for a partner. Not a supplier, but a real partner with whom it would be a pleasure to collaborate on this creative project. A partner who shares our ideas about respect for a job well done and the joy of learning and entrepreneurship.
From the beginning, our discussions with LOCOMOTIV, a Berthierville microbrewery, were natural and straightforward. From the outset, the brewmasters suggested we create a beer inspired by both our traditions spanning three generations and their brewery line: unifying and embodying great ideas. The idea was for the beer to perfectly express our commitment to the development of our businesses, our families, and our communities.
Beyond the beer, we also wanted to create a playful illustration around the idea of "made for chilling." So we called on our extraordinary designer and illustrator, Anne-Marie Charest, to create an original visual expressly for the occasion and then – while we were at it! – we also asked her to create the HUSKY collection for the season.
The result is truly beautiful. We're very proud of it. Thank you, Anne-Marie!
HUSKY beer, naturally made for chilling
The very first HUSKY beer, a blonde IPA, first reveals subtle notes of cherry wood-smoked barley. Then, Nelson Sauvin, a hop of New Zealand origin, takes its place with resinous flavors reminiscent of pine needles as well as fruity flavors reminiscent of currants. The result is a well-balanced and flavorful beer that could even be described as comforting. Perfect for those passionate about work, life, and the outdoors who like to chill around the fire after a hard day.
A gift, a wink and a toast to the future
The beer is not for sale; it will be offered exclusively to our customers, partners, and friends. Because one of the keys to nurturing the joy of learning and entrepreneurship for more than half a century is always giving your all... But also taking a little time to look back on the journey we've made, celebrate with our customers, partners, and friends, and sincerely say thank you!
